Some peaks of the Himalayas are visible from Thakurgaon where Musa grew up. “I once took him to the Jagaddal Hat of Thakurgaon to show him a peak of the mountain,” said Musa's father Ansar Ali, “Musa was merely a boy of nine years old then, and he was amazed by the view”. “We never heard about his dream of conquering Everest until he completed his university degree,” said the proud father of Musa Ibrahim, the first Bangladeshi Everest conqueror.

Siddique Mahmudur Rahman is an eminent author, researcher, translator, editor, publication specialist. He is pioneer in studying on Postal History and Postage Stamps of Bangladesh. He published 9 books on postal history and postage stamps of Bangladesh and was awarded 6 prises from USA, Australia, South Korea and Indonesia. He has six translated works. He has specialty in translation of Bangla poems.

Eminent research scholar, translator and editing specialist of Bangladesh Siddique Mahmudur Rahman was awarded Silver from American Philatelic Society for his book Postage Stamps of Bangladesh 1971-2008 in August 2009.
